I am afraid nothing the LDNPA, under its current management, does, astonishes me any more.


Some of the damage to the greenways is horrendous, although I did notice that the Old Coach Raod from St John's in the Vale to Groovebeck Fold, has been repaired - last May you'd have needed a tank to get along it.  We walkers are certainly responsible for erosion, hence a lot of the work done by Fix the Fells, but nothing on the scale of the motorised vehicles.  Plus the noise!

The last few times we have been in Little Langdale we have seen a commercial company (don't recall the name on the side of the vehicles ) taking people off roading. Perhaps it is this extra use which has caused the damage?  Perhaps the commercial company have overused it causing the problems? 

I've walked on those green roads a lot over the years and I personally have never minded sharing it with the off roaders using it. They were few and far between though and responsible drivers, respectful of walkers and the environment they were in, they weren't there to make money.

I too have no confidence in the LDNPA leadership

I'm in the lakes at the moment. I would have no issue with them banning cyclists. Two oafs nearly knocked me over today on a footpath. If they ban walkers they would lose a lot in tourism.
