We slept in so it was a late start for us. It wasn't a bad day at all but we were a bit late to get anywhere beyond local. We chose Gelt Woods because Squeaky can have a good run about and we thought the trees might be nice to see changing colour. We parked near Capontree Hill and walked on the public right of way by Unity. We saw some nice colours in the trees on the way.

Autumn colours
We were now on the footpath leading to Gelt Woods
Squeaky leading the way in Gelt Woods
Squeaky was now off the lead and suddenly she shot off like a bullet chasing something in the trees that we had not seen. She came back in about a minute but thankfully she hadn't caught whatever it was she'd seen! It may have been falling leaves she'd seen because they were falling like rain!
Approaching the river
Next to the River Gelt
The photo isn't askew, the trees, except one, all seem to be leaning over into the river.

River Gelt again
We sat and had our lunch here next to the river away from the path. What a lovely lunch it was.
Last shot of autumn
We walked toward Middle Gelt Bridge then turned back and walked the bridleway back to the car. A short but lovely walk. 4.35 miles with 234m ascent.
