Phew! I am stiff today...parked on edge of Greenfield walked to Dovestones carpark (full) walked up track to Chew reservoir...was going to follow the path on map going north to Ashway stones...but was very bleak, only clear path came to the ridge so followed that to bramley cot...slug....on as far as Raven stones...down to Birchen clough and a right scramble down that into valley bottom, back along flatter bits to car.  some of the last few pics show what a scramble it was...inc a 3ft drop had to go down on my [censored].....am nearly too old. Yet there were kids and a mum there! Maybe theres another way there?

Some very dramatic photos there, pleb - Gritstone can be naturally sculpted into some really improbable shapes.

Fab pics pleb  O0 Yes the green marked right of way on the map isn't where the path is, we followed the same path. I remember the first 2 rocky bits, they come as a surprise  :) You went on the "path of death" along by Ravenstones  :o Well done, we missed out looking at your photos, very dramatic landscape there with those trinnacles. Nowt wrong with bottom mountaineering  :)

I was just talking to beefy on the phone and I was saying you must not have any fear of heights to get so close to the edge of the huge drops at Ravenstones. My head was spinning as soon as I saw one of those drops. Forgot to mention, pleased to see Pumpkin heed out  :)

I do have fear of heights, u wouldnt get me rock climbing there like some where yesterday.
Before I forget, the rock on my pic the one after pumpkinhead, it looks like the head of K9, Dr. Who's robot dog.
Which do u mean by path of death? Along Birchen clough? Or before that?

The two fingers rock looks a bit precarious  :o

It really does look a smashing, varied walk though.

Hope you left your empty bottle behind to reflect that sunlight onto the moorland and start a fire...
