Does anyone know the correct pronunciation for Dow Crag, everyone seems to pronounce it D-ow - with the ow as in the ou of out, but I seem to remember Wainwright writing that it came from the name for a female deer - therefore pronounced doe.....?

O0 just  readind book4 of WAINWRIGHT S GUIDES and he says and i quote[DOW or DOE , but the former is NOW generally accepted] so i think ive answerd that for you?ok pal..good question by the way.

OK, ta.  Everyone seems to use Dow rather than Doe.
