When I hike I've settled into a routine of wraps and squeezy cheese, nuts, blueberries (I love em!) chocolate, bananas and porridge, sometimes a few other similar items as well. I just put my porridge portion into my cup, put in some cold water, wait for a short while then eat. with or without blueberries or chopped bananas thrown in. I would normally only drink water when walking but I've taken to chocolate drink sachets this year, again made with cold water and I prefer them to be made this way than made with hot water.
Other than this I drink coffee, tea and other food in pubs and coffee and cake shops.
