So the blister has appeared, burst and the skin rubbed raw? In that case I wouldn't use either compeed or any other 'blister' plaster. 
What you need is a non adherent gauze to cover the area and then tape it firmly in place, or a specialised dressing that does the same.

Agree. The compeed needs placing sooner rather than later, it's more of a preventative than a post blister treatment.

It's a long time since I needed one, but I've used one a couple of times when blister had formed and burst. Relief was almost instant in both cases, and walked on without any bother. Just left on till it peels off naturally days later, after a soak in bath.

And a couple of other guys I know have done exactly same without any problems.

Not that I'm advocating letting it get to that stage, of course! Far better to tape sensitive area with zinc oxide tape at first sign of trouble. (Indeed I tend to tape up any known "sensitive" areas before walk if using a new pair of boots.)
