Once you've uploaded your pics to Flickr, select an image. At the bottom right of the image are 4 icons. One is an arrow (Share) click on that and another window pops up. Select "BBcode" at the top, and an image size with the down arrow.
Copy and paste the highlighted URL text and paste it into your reply.

Hopefully then when you click "post"; instead of the URL text, the image you selected should be displayed.

I've never been a photo taker but my son and girlfriend are trying to persuade me to have a go. She has an Iphone and I have a OnePlusThree and the internet testers suggest the cameras are comparable?

The girl friend is very good at all this, its her job as well. She's a graphic artist and when we were all on holiday last year she bought her Gimble with her. A fascinating bit of equipment, amused me for hours, the camera stays steady even when walking along. She did showed me how the Iphone camera can be best used but I'm afraid it all went over my head at the time.

When I next visit them she is going to give me some tuition. As my son said, that should be a laugh!

I took a camera on my Pyrenees GR10 hike in 2015, it was easy enough to use but I did manage to drop it on concrete which didn't help it much. It survived with some sellotape around it, but when I returned home it had to go in the bin. I have no plans to buy another because I know I would rarely make use it. So for me its phone or nothing. I'm out to Spain in a few weeks and the people who are coming with us have bought a video camera. They don't know how to use and neither do I but it should keep us occupied for a while!

Back to the original request for camera suggestions. Here is a very good review of the Sony DSC-HX90V which may be of interest

The most important aspect of choosing a compact camera for outdoor photography, is its waterproof capabilities.
Numerous action cameras on the market will suffice, be it a Garmin, Sony, or a GoPro, they will all take superb photographs in every weather imaginable, which should mean you will never miss that once in a life time shot, because of the weather.

DA just a tip when you paste the BBCode you can remove the section from "by your name" and the name will be removed from the post.

Thanks for the replies. They've made for interesting reading :) I hadn't considered a GoPro & I've decided to stay as close to a dslr as i can and get a used Panasonic G3 and lens, it's less than half the weight of my previous setup (although it's not pocketable) and substantially smaller. Doesn't seem a bad little camera:
