Hi and welcome :)

It all depends on what YOU consider to be beautiful in the first place.

Do you photograph people? Landscapes? Wildlife? Flora? Buildings?  Each theme would perhaps require a different set of techniques.

I'm certainly no expert when it comes to photography (I'm a point and shoot on the auto setting kind of girl)....but if you gave us a bit more info, perhaps we'd be more able to advise you.

Tracey :)

Tell us where you walk, kullboys, then we might be able to give you some tips.
P.S. Do you work nights? 3:30 a.m. is a strange time to join and make your first post.

So am I    :)

kullboys  -  if you google, you'll find lots of websites offering tips on photography. Take plenty of photos and you'll soon begin to find what works well and what doesn't.

Kullboys there are some good forums that deal just with photography.

Just saying, you may get better help there than on a walking forum.

You must be a night shift worker or an insomniac like our friend Dyffryn.

Well done on buying a camera.  The easiest way to take a beautiful photograph is to find one someone else has taken and .... well.... take it.  If you can find one already framed then that's even better.  Some might call that stealing but, meh, what's in a word eh?

If its digital, take a ton of pics. Then find a decent one. Delete the rest. Works for me. O0

I'm looking to buy a decent compact for the hills aswell.
Looking for something which has manual and a Viewfinder, like a Lumix DMC-TZ type. Sub £300.
