I just realised that I hadn't posted a TR or photos from my recent TMB walk so here goes. A full TR with photos can now be seen at my website at

I really enjoyed your TMB TR and photos, thank you.
How good a head for heights do you need for those paths?
The thunderstorm must have been scary, we got stuck on a ridge in a bad one on the Robert Louis Stevenson trail, I've never been so glad to down into the valley in one piece!

Excellent report, thanks for posting, bought back many happy memories of my tour in 2013, even stayed in the same hotel in Courmayer.

It was scary, and like you I couldn't wait to get down to lower ground. It just seemed to come from nowhere.

I didn't feel any higher up than you do in the Lake District because you started most days higher up than Scafell Pike so you were never at 8000ft looking down at sea level. The only time that I think people could feel exposed with big drops would be on the ladder section and there is an alternative route  O0

I don't know if you and April have walked "abroad" but you would love this walk, plenty of wild camping going on and camping beside the mountain huts  O0

Totally agree, for me the best walk I have ever done. Its truly international, I met people from everywhere! The refuges were fantastic, lots of bon amie, good food, wine, beer and fantastic scenery. Apart from bad weather (I was lucky, it was sunny for 12 days) I can't think of anything that was bad about it. You can obviously tell I voted to Remain! ;)
