Title: Light weight frying pan

Hello,
Just wondering if anyone could recommend a light weight frying pan. When wild camping I often don't bother taking a stove and when I do it's always just simple stuff like noddles/cous cous etc, but last weekend I was just heading up a small hill, so for an experiment I took an old frying pan up and rustled up some bacon, eggs and sausages and it was quite the treat! :)   I'm not looking to splash out allot as I'll only be using it on the odd occasion I would think, but just curious to see what others use and where they got them from. There is a toaks one on ultra light outdoor gear for about £30 (surprised to see some for nearly £100 there too :o ) but even that seems a bit pricey for occasional use, however I've wasted a ton of money over the years buying cheap stuff that's not fit for purpose. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Trangia lid, you can even get teflon ones.

Don't waste money on titanium, just get an non stick aluminium one - a perfectly decent frying pan came with a reasonably priced Vango set of Aluminium pans that I bought several years ago; works well as a lid too!

How the heck does a frying pan get to be unisex?  Are there boys and girls pans too?  Political correctness gone mad  ::)

As it's located close to me I always try TKMax first for most things including pans

Thanks Jac. I always forget to look in TXmax. I had a quick look in Decathlon but everything they had in was part of a set and I have all the other cooking stuff I need - I'll check out TXMax before going for the highlander one or something similar.

I use a msr lightweight skillet, will have to check the weight

Good point Richard - I was just having a quick scan to see what was on amazon. 18cm is probably too small!


Thanks Gary M but MSR gear is probably out of my price range for something I'm only going to use occasionally.
