The John Muir Way
This footpath starts at a lay-by a few 100 meters north of the Castle Dykes/Cockburnspath roundabout on the busy A1 (also form this lay-by you can follow a signposted link to Cockburnspath and the start of the Southern Upland Way ).
The John Muir Way traverses the length of East Lothian from Dunglass to Musselburgh Harbour taking in some great views and some unexpectedly beautiful coast line along its way.
Day One Dunglass to East Linton
The Start…
Time to hit the beach
Then a fast walk round the power station
It’s the rays MAN!!
The walk way
The sea defences
And safely past the power station
And back to the coast
Day Two East Linton Gullane an easy days walk trough rolling farm lands and nice coastal scenery
Day three Gullane to Musselburgh
The hotel which I would highly recommend
Some history
A scenic spot
And me
Aircraft guidance systems circa second world war
The end
