Wow, lovely photos 8) Not very often we get shots of Ireland on here, so thanks for posting. Looks fab! O0
-
Cheers, got lucky that day; there is only a one in 7 chance of a clear day on the mountain
-
Stunning scenery henry, great looking ridges, Caher and Beenkeragh look very interesting. Super photos O0
-
Thanks April. The. Coomloughra horseshoe takes in all three peaks and is supposed to be Ireland's best walk
-
I can well believe that it does look fabulous. I do like the Irish names :)

A few years ago we did Carrauntoohil on a Good Friday, Killarney was rammed but despite perfect weather we saw nobody on the hills all day.
On another visit we did all of Irelands 3000ers in one week, think my fave was the Brandon mountain/peak walk, I love walking on high mountains ridges above the sea.

The Macgillycuddy Reeks gets around 25000 visitors per year. Climbed Brandon in the summer of 2010. During the ascent the cloud came down and it rained. Upon reaching the summit the cloud cleared in a few minutes. What a miracle

MacGillycuddy's reeks are spectacular mountains, I went along the ridge from the Black Valley hostel in 2007. The weather had just started to turn when I was on the summit of Carrauntoohil, it was a very wet walk back to the hostel.
