It does get good reviews when and where are you to be using it?
If you mail me I’ll give you info on single skin tents and what to look out for and where to
look to pitch and get the most out of your single skin tent etc, and if it’s for you.
But below is what I think your looking at but the lighter version

But if your wanting a very strong do it all tent through to winter that will take a battering
and don’t care where you pitch it then look at the https://www.tarptent.com/product/stratospire-1/
with a solid inner as there bathtub floors are only 5inches high so you may feel a breeze whilst laying
down from under the fly in windy weather.

Many thanks Fox for all your excellent advice and tent details .
You have been very helpful .
So much to look at  and think about . :-[ :-\ :-X and

The SMD trekker tent looked Interesting As regards to the low weight ,pack size , height and room inside .
But I did not like the large gaps at the bottom all round .
Nor all the No-See UM mesh
Which I think would be draughty.
I just thought It would help to reduce my backpacking weight .

 :)  Hello Richard .
I will be going camping as soon as possible .
At the moment . My foot is recovering from a badly blister pad where the skins came off leaving it very tender  :( :o .
Reference to Wild camping . I only ever came close to doing it on the Anglesey Coastal path ,years ago .
As
Llanbadrig vineyard was closed
But a very kind person allowed me to pitch my my tent on his land for free  ::) O0 .
I also get 2/3 Options from the UK campsite forum of campsites as a Plan B  :-\

There are lot to factor in when choosing a single skin tent for the UK and NOT all designs work.
You could lower the pole and that would drop the height of the tent and peg the fly lower to the ground
But you also have the front of the tent which is set pretty high from floor to underside of the fly which could be drafty, plus I don’t think from expirance that a fly that low to the face is a good thing.

Regarding condensation you can’t stop it but manage it through camp selection or via venting and
if you have condensation plus your breath at that low part of the tent it may drip onto you.
With my experiences with single skin shelters is to have the fly high away from you with steep sides
for the condensation to go down. Plus high bathtub floors are great that you can raise the fly and the breeze if any doesn’t hit your face whilst lying down.
Best single skin tents for backpacking are the trekking supported tents.
You can raise or lower them and also tilt the fly down into the wind to block wind/draft whilst venting the other side
Any further questions please ask ; )

The Skyscape Trekker actually weighs 765g...And it's out of stock so you would have trouble getting one right now at peak season.  You could go for their Lunar Solo one person tent instead...It only weighs 680g.

If you're looking especially for a single skinned tent, then it might well be light but it would have some possible disadvantages. No protection from midgies and assorted carnivorous beasties, no protection from wind, and from the examples quoted, rather expensive. I enjoyed reading a few posts from Alan de Enfield regarding a tent he bought off Ebay and it might well suit your needs.
Made in China it has two skins, with the inner only having mesh from about halfway up, very roomy and quite light too. Another advantage is that it would only cost about a quarter of the American tents mentioned. It might be well worth checking Alan's posts as they have a very detailed description of the tent and several photos.
It strikes me that single skinned, or double with all mesh inners may be fine for mostly hot/warm conditions; but Tarptent started making a version of their very successful tent (Scarp) with a mostly solid inner and a lower outer for the European (especially British) market, after repeated requestes from British campers for those mods. I've got a double rainbow that had mesh sides and ends sewn onto the outer (in effect, a single skin with insect protection) and what I found is that the ends let in driven rain and the tent was "breezy" to say the least.
Now, after a lot of mods and needle [censored] in thumbs and fingers, I've got something between a Single and a Double skinned tent. Think I'll casll it a Dingle!

Some modern double skin tents are so light nowadays that I just don't see the point in making do with a single skinned tent just to save a couple of hundred grams. And some double skins can be used fly only if conditions suit (Terra Nova Laser range, for example); best of both worlds!

Ah...but was it "no-see-um" mesh?!  ;D
