Am I right in thinking he was this year’s Spine race winner?

Yes. He won the race in 3 days 15 hours so the time he is aiming for might just be possible.

Good luck to him. Chopping about 22 hours off his Spine winning time would be an incredible feat, even taking into account better conditions, longer daylight hours, pacemakers, support etc.

I'll be following this.

Clicked on tracker, first occasion got map with 'John Kelly on Pennine Way 2020'. Last tracked 01 Jul 11.32, left open and nothing has changed all day, including 2 Support.

Went via another link which took ages to load and I got Trackers Leaderboard - Nothing!

Anything happening for anyone?

I will try to watch as much as I can, thanks for the heads up tony  O0

The weather looks grim, I wonder if he will delay it until after the weekend?

I wish him luck, I enjoyed watching his Spine Race dot earlier this year and the money raised is for such a worthy cause.

Typical Pennine Way weather in July! Light rain would probably be welcome as it has a cooling effect in the summer but the wind might slow things down. The other problem is the paving being slippery and leading to falls/injury.The weather at the start in Edale dosen't seem too bad and by the time he hits Cross Fell the wind should have abated a little.

Oh good love dot watching it always motivates me to try and get fitter!!! We should have been doing the Pennine Way at the moment (more like 2 weeks, not 2 days) but sacked it till next year  :(   :( Was on Cross Fell a couple of weeks ago during the warm spell, conditions were very good underfoot and great visibility in fact had never been up there when it was so nice and calm.  However suspect PW conditions are now boggy and soggy.  Great respect to him, reading his intro he is obviously a very responsible chap, I would have gone & cheered him on en route from somewhere near my stamping ground but after reading his post will be doing that from the comfort of my sofa!.  Good luck to him  O0 O0
