With forecasters predicting cloudy skies and light rain, Saturday's walk took the form of a low level traverse. Having walked through forests in previous week-ends, I fancied a change of scenery. So I drove to the Silent Valley car park. The route would simply be 'to there and back again' from SV car park to Ben Crom reservoir. This is my favourite low level walk in the Mournes. The walk is a good tarmac surface throughout. Total distance was just over 7km. When I finished the walk, I had my lunch in the car. As I was eating my sandwich a robin flew in and perched itself on a tree in front of me. This is the second time this has happened in a month! Apologies for the lack of photos but it really wasn't a day for the camera
