New LDP in the Peak district
« on: 18:20:34, 28/05/17 »
The Country Walking magazine has an article this month on a new path called the Peak District Boundary Walk, 190 miles. It's being launched in June. Sounds quite interesting. Starts and finishes in Buxton.

What a great idea!  Apparently the route has been put together by the Friends of the Peak and the official launch was on 17th June (sorry I missed it!).  The guide book is already available: http://www.friendsofthepeak.org.uk/boundary-walk/boundary-walk-book/
(You can also buy it from Amazon but I'd rather get it from those volunteers who put in a massive amount of work :) ),  Anyway, I hope to be following some sections of the boundary walk soon.

Back in the seventies John N Merrill created the Derbyshire Boundary Walk (281 miles).Never attempted it myself but it looks a good route.
