Excellent Dibbs, the snow looks great  and I can't wait to get up there in the stuff. Looks a very interesting route and one I will be doing some time next year.

Looks like a brill day Catherine, wish I could have come too.  Not possible at the moment though, cant risk any more falls and breaking my wrist again, well not yet anyway.  I have done this route in good weather and its a wonderful way up onto Skiddaw.
Maybe this could be a good walk for a Spring meet up?

You would have enjoyed it Helen... yes, it would make a great meet-up.

I'll book some decent weather and then post it up here!   O0

Great pics and trip report. I agree with those that say that this is the best way up on to Skiddaw. I remember doing it from the Hotel on the main road - extraordinarily steep start! Another memory is the trudge up the Slate slope on to the summit - tough! Apart from all that - Magical! Thanks for sharing your pictures and you always seem to be having fun. :)

Wonderful pictures, and we can tell by report that it was even better in reality, despite the slip.  Thanks for posting these.   O0 O0 O0
