Grasmere lake

I was thinking of walking round Grasmere lake. I would be keen to avoid road walking. So, was wondering if there was a footpath or trail beside the lake so I wouldn't have to walk on the A591.

It's not possible to walk all the way Grasmere lake, as most of it is private land. There is a short section at the southern end of the lake that you can walk along the actual lakeshore, but the rest of the lakeshore isn't accessible.
If you zoom in on the map on this walk, it will show you the bits that you can walk on, and what you can't.

I personally feel that this walk:

would be better to do. It's not a lakeshore walk, but it would give you some good views of Grasmere Lake. It goes up to Alcock Tarn, which is a lovely little spot.
