Personally, I find her tiresome. She's very good at presenting herself and lets her ego overshadow her actual ability.

Very well put.

for me, she spoils every programme she is in. it's supposed to be about the countryside, not about her. and no, i would not !

So would I, but I'd be thinking of Kylie

But she'd be thinking of me.

You old scoundrel - You told me you'd dumped Kylie for Beyonce!

Julia's alright, but she's beginning to look a leathery now.  I put the telly on the other day and thought it was Manolito from the High Chaperral - turned out to be Julia.  Come to that, Kylie's getting a bit "Pat Phoenix" these days.  You're best off with Beyonce.

Or go earlier in the season. Dog and I went in June 2007 and did not experience any crowds.
LDPs certainly do improve the local economy. A farmer I spoke to on Hadrians wall reckoned he would have gone out of business if is was not for the LDP and the B+B and camping he could offer as a result.
Or get your maps out and devise your own routes...just as did AW...you'll have a better chance of avoiding the crowds that way.

I did enjoy seeing parts of the Cleveland Way route last night, from Mount Grace Priory to Bloworth Crossing, where it follows the same route as the C2C, as I have just recently walked the CW.

I've got a bit of catching up to do, good job they are on the iplayer. Just watched the Lakes where she walks in the rain, very enjoyable programe, love the aerial pictures. I think it would be a briliant challenge to make your own route up, even more satisfying than following others.

just as an aside - son's partner is called Ilona - the only other time I've heard the name - so "Hello"
