I would love to take part in this challenge but...I know I won't manage to fit that much in.  I might keep any eye on how you're all doing and aim to get 500 miles done.  I like the idea of tracking it all year to see how I do, I might suprise myself  :)
Good luck to you all - and if your in or near the Wye valley give me a shout.

Hi Lou

I live in Monmouth, so I tend to do most of my walking in the Wye Valley. I'll let you know when I'm out and about, you'll be welcome to come along  O0

Will there be a thread started to track our progress or will we just keep adding to this one?

The idea is to use the list on here. Copy, paste and edit whenever you update.

At the latest........

We need to bring you down to the level of us mere mortals. I propose a handicap system, whereby you start at minus 2000 miles :D

For those of us who can't reach your standard of mere mortals, can I have an handicap of +500 miles

I've decided to scratch the ten miles I did earlier in the week and just start from today. Not likely to be out today mind you but there is a good chance for tomorrow. Happy new year everyone and good luck with the challenge.

Thanks to Andy Broadley for the admin and it's appropriate that the first miles have been added by Castaway as it was all his idea in the first place. Cheers guys.

P.S. Why have I become Mr Summit lol

I shall be out in a while inspite of the weather both here and inside my head! Methinks there are going to be some well-walked dogs amongst us by the end of this!  :)

A nice frosty jaunt round one of my favourite walks on the Antonine Wall this morning to kick the year off - Ice skates might have been more appropriate at times, though!

This thread is going to get very long if we're adding mileage every day, might be better to do it weekly. Would have been ideal if we could just edit the first post with the names and then be able to edit it after a walk but I think only an Admin could do that  O0

In the past few years we have had lists marking each individual members annual mileage and it was updated when ever the member wished. Some did it after every walk and some did it every so often. I think it's better just to leave it up to each individual rather than have set rules or guidelines.
