Hiking Book?
« on: 22:46:51, 28/11/14 »
Hi Everyone,

My sister recently moved from Glasgow to Bristol, she loves hiking and has become a little bit of a Scot while she lived in Glasgow. I was hoping to get her a gag Christmas present on "English hiking for a Scot" or something along those lines.

Does anyone know if a book like this exists?

Cheers,

Not really what you ask for, but I am reminded that recently I discovered an old copy of Janet Adam Smith's Mountaineering Holidays at the back of a cupboard.  A vanished world.  They used to get the night train to Scotland in the twenties and thirties, march across the Cairngorm then knock on a cottage door and expect to get taken in and fed, even sometimes mentioning casually one of the children gave up their bed for them.  What arrogance!
