Title: Bannerdale Crags

Travelled over to the Lake District today with a few friends and hiked two more Wainwrights, Bannerdale Crags and Souther Fell. Certainly not the tallest but on the way up to Bannerdale it was rather steep pair it with relentless wind and you've got yourself quite a climb. It got easier once we'd reach the tops as it was mostly flat and managed to knock it out in about 4 1/2 hours before we dug into a well deserved portion of chips at the pub. I like those quieter northern fells - I seem to remember descending over the broad Bannerdale Crags ridge on my way down from Blencathra many years ago - very pleasant walking. Then a few pints in the pub at Mungrisdale before walking back to Threlkeld via the upper Glenderamakin valley (wonderful name).
