Macc Forest...

Lovely photos. If you focus on the middle of the picture, where you have the upper branches thinned out, you can believe you are looking up through the trees onto an alpine mountain - with snow and rock showing through.
Or is it just too vivid an imagination ?

Near North Lees, Derbyshire...

I've only just found this post so having to quote the pictures to comment against, otherwise you wouldn't have a clue what I was referring to.
This picture has a quality like an old painting, a fabulous photo - as are everyone's to be fair.
I feel quite ashamed that mine just look like bog standard landscapes compared to these  :-[

Nice pics of Soussons Jac.  We quite often have a wander around there, and Golden Dagger Mine.

There's nothing wrong with having a vivid imagination sometimes I.M. I often see things that aren't really there and in fact, it intrigues me how we can distort a scene that is actually real and create a different one altogether!

Perhaps that is how we generally live our lives - all seeing the same things but in different ways and never realising that 'our' reality isn't the same as the next persons !
A good example is something I read in a book by Ursula K LeGuin (and I'm not a si-fi fan) - called ' The Winds Twelve Quarters':- one of the short stories in this is called ' The Direction of the Road '
It took me a moment to realise what I was reading and it becomes clear that it is a story written from the perspective of a tree, growing at the side of a path/road. The tree is the reality and the creatures it comes across - animals, vehicles and humans are 'muses' to it's existence.
It isn't a serious story but it does make you think about your own reality in comparison to the bigger picture.

Not a good photograph but the subject was interesting. The central image is of a tree that has fallen foul of a landslip and lies across a beck. By a stroke of luck some of the roots are in the water and the tree is alive.
Photo taken in Rannerdale (Lake District).

Remenber Billy Connolly's quote.....There are only 2 seasons in Scotland:
June,  and the rest of the year.

While the rest of Britains trees are blooming and greening up nicely, in this recent photo in Scotland winter is still clinging on.

Messing about in boats

One of the best things about this time of year is getting the chance to get out walking/climbing/bouldering on an evening.
This set of Tree photos were taken on a recent evening walk down by the river Ure.
