Sea to Summit Etherlight XT sleeping mat, so far I have only used it in the garden but am impressed at the comfort and light weight. I have terrible trouble with my hips when using my Thermarest these days (getting old!). Looking forward to trying it out on a proper camp.

I have a different Salomon name (Quest) but I'm sure that like mine, your boots will be supremely comfortable to hike in. Some people complain that Salomon can be a bit narrow, but for me they are perfect.

I've always found the opposite with Salomon boots, they fit my wide feet perfectly, their trainers on the other hand do tend to have a narrower fitting.  One brand of boots that I cannot get on with is Scarpa, just way too narrow for my feet.

Me too - rejected out of hand when I tried some on in Kendal a while back, way too narrow.

My old, favourite boots that lasted me for thousands of miles before finally succumbing were Scarpa. They were really comfortable, didn’t need breaking in and never gave me blisters. I have large and wide feet and these were never a problem. When I came to replace them, I thought I would try Scarpa again. This was a completely different experience and I couldn’t get my feet into the boots, as they were so narrow.

I have three pairs of Scarpa boots, Manta climbing boots, SA winter walking boots and a lightweight fabric walking boot. As well as a pair of ski touring boots. My feet are large and wide but my ankles are quite narrow. I'm happy with my Scarpa boots.

I bought a pair of the Scarpa R-Evo Gtx after trying them on in the shop, they seemed comfortable out of the box and the fit seemed good, boy how wrong was I.  My first walk in them was one of perhaps 5 miles, I was nearly crippled by the end of it, it was honestly like walking on glass, my feet were just so constricted.  Don't know whether it had anything to do with the 'sock fit' technology but it has put me off Scarpa's ever since, an expensive mistake.

After some disappointing experiences with Salomon boots leaking badly, I upgraded to a pair of Scarpa R-Evo GTX boots. They fit me perfectly, have never leaked, are comfortable and supportive, and I love them!
