In the local branch of "The Range" in Bangor, they are selling Regatta fleece lined thermal tops, for an amazing £5.99.
Annoyingly, most of the best sizes have already gone, resulting in most of the tops being XL or XXL.
Thankfully i did locate a L, and the quality is amazing, and even though it has not got the right name on the front, for £6, i do not really care.
What Berghaus,The North Face or similar manufacturer would charge for similar kit, i do not know, but £6 was an out and out steal.

At least you have the ability to make a decision. I have been planning to buy a couple of baselayers for about a week now and still can't make up my mind. So much choice out there!

Believe me it was helped by the 50% off reductions, 1 x Rab, 1 x Mountain Equipment and 1 x Norrona.  Rab and Mountain Equipment I already have and like, the Norrona is an unkown entity to me will have to see how it performs out on the hills in the near future.

Starting to prepare for another Arctic trip, in winter this time, so along with some new maps, new skis, ski boots, bindings and new salopettes. Not to mention flights, trains, accommodation on route, food and fuel. etc, etc.

It was my birthday yesterday and as a surprise my kids clubbed together and bought me a GoPro  :)
Touching from a distance, further all the time.

Another visit to LD Mountain Centre today saw me buying some walking poles, a couple of boil in the bag meals, a couple of dry bags and a new titanium spork.  The bank balance and the wife are really happy that I resisted the urge to buy another goretex jacket, another backpack and another hat :).

LOL, I've got one like that!
"What? Another rucksack? What have you bought another one for? What's wrong with the last one you bought? How many have you got now?"
And on, and on, and on....

Daren't tell her I've just bought another new pair of walking trousers. Fortunately she was out when the postman delivered them  ;)

Aha, not just me then !
Due to space and the fact that some haven't been used for some time I have been putting a few rucksacks on fleabay recently. My fourth is up for sale at the moment ..... And getting to the point of the question of this post:- my latest piece of kit was a Osprey rucksack, which I was bitterly disappointed  with and after a bit of soul searching I decided to sell (having held on to it for too long since purchase I couldn't return it).
Only a hill but all of life to me, up there between the sunset and the sea.
