Blencathra in the snow
« on: 19:08:27, 20/02/19 »
Sorry for posting two threads, but I'm catching up on things after a hectic couple of weeks.

31 January saw me take a day off work and head to Blencathra - gosh it was cold, the car reckoned it was -10 going through the Shap section of the M6, and -7 when I got to Scales.  Idecided on an easy ascent, up Scales Fell to Blencathra, and I won't bore anyone with the route, just with a couple of photos which, while not perfect, hopefully show that it was a prety perfect day to be in the hills

As you can see, I wasn't the only person to walk this way

Truly beautiful day - just thought I'd share!

So thoughtless posting more lovely photos so that I have to look at them.

Only a hill but all of life to me, up there between the sunset and the sea.

Sorry Ridge - I'll not do it again (till next time obviously)

Cheers IM, Dovegril and Beefy - I think this was my best day of the winter, the conditions were so beautiful.  The snow wasn't hard, unfortunately, so where it had drifted it was hard going, but the views were just sensational - winter light and snow - I just smiled my way round!

It's one of my favourites (though I have lots) - but I had to put a shift in for a few days before this to get the day off - good job Mrspdstsp is an understanding boss! O0

Spot on - I think it's the way the sky makes the snow look blue - love days like that.
