Looks like its over.He has got to average over 5.5 mph to beat the record. His average over the last 30 miles has been closer to 3mph.I am sure he will finish but he is unlikely to beat either Mike Hartley's or Mike Cudahy's times but might just dip under three days.

It would appear that Pavel has retired in Greenhead.Great effort though and he went far better than expected. O0

Yep, got mild hypothermia on the Cheviots when I did it in June 2012  :)

Weathers not been in their favour over the last few days.

Looks like Franz Meiser (Germany) will win the race as he has a 21 mile lead at Chew Green.

Expected him to have finished overnight but unfortunately he had to retire over the Cheviots.  Brutal conditions apparently, he was evacuated by mountain rescue at Cocklawfoot.  Must be gutted that he was so close to the finish.
We were walkng PW this time last year and had some pretty bad weather but sounds like it's even worse.

Yes,it can be brutal up there at this time of the year.I have worn a Buffalo shirt in the Cheviots in these type of conditions (summer) and even then its been a struggle to keep warm.A lot of this ultra running lightweight clothing is completely inadequate in these conditions.

Gary Morrision has a bit of a lead, around a mile.I doubt if the wet weather will bother him as he is a deep sea diver!

It looks like number 215 Raj Mahapatra has called it a day at the road before Padon Hill.  So near yet so far for quite a few for the "Summer!!" Spine. :(
Just thought there may be a diversion to join up again in the Redesdale Forest.  Fingers crossed.

They might have diverted the route due to the bad conditions on Brownrigg Head.

Seems to have stopped or there's an issue with his tracker, two others well ahead of him now and almost at Hen Hole hut.
