A useful map
« on: 18:46:02, 30/10/19 »
I have Google maps, Backcountry maps, and IGN maps on my phone already and I downloaded another one recently. There was a conversation about parking on the Forum recently and I realised then that I did not have one that showed individual streets clearly. I then found Windy Maps and find it very good, it's based on Openstreet maps I think and I am planning to test it out when I next want to find a parking place to sleep in my car. When I do this I park in plain sight, not stealthily where my car would stand out and be noticed.

My Windy MKap has just updated itself, it can now track me as I walk. Might be useful? I had this perk on a French SityTrail phone map and I was able to make my way along the official path in really thick fog, which at the time for me, was a real lifesaver. What I don't know yet is whether the Windy Map tracker works in the same way. But unlike Sitymaps at least it free.
