Sleeping bag storage
« on: 17:19:16, 20/01/21 »
I have been told that my gear room must be sorted or else.........Since I'm not a good cook I cannot afford to risk this ultimatum.
Currently my sleeping bags recline, I thought gracefully, over two chairs but I have been told that they deserve better.
Can anyone come up with  how to do this. I would love to hang them in my gear wardrobe there's enough space.  There's enough width but not quite enough depth. I found pdq that 1. coat hangers are just not deep enough, 2. Amazon are asking nearly £90 for a specialist hanger. I hope it was the moths in my wallet that were having the palpitations at that ridiculous price.
All ideas greatfully recieved.
Too little, too late, too bad......

I store mine under the bed in the oversized storage bags they were supplied with (ca. 70 cm long and 40 cm diameter, cotton or mesh) and my thermorest on the other side...Failing that I could lend you my copy of Delia Smith's book and you'll be cooking up a storm in no time...

It's at time like these I wish I hadn't thrown those bags out.
But large cotton bags may be easy enough to buy. I. E. Cheap single Duvet covers.
Thanks.

I may cancel the Hairy bikers book of pies.

I keep mine folded loosely in half in a large trunk in my garage. I managed to acquire it from my sister in law for nothing when she moved house a few years ago. I also keep my tent, Thermarest etc there as well. Ideal.

Pillow case?
Would be a lot crushed up in a pillow case I think. But I can give it a go before I spend money. 😁

In pillow cases in the drawers under the divan. On my own side, of course.
Ground mat self-inflated and standing up in the back of the wardrobe, my one of course, held in place by the coats and trousers on hangers.
After 50 years I don't get ultimatums, she gave up a long time ago. Just sits there silently seething.

A sleeping bag I bought recently didn't come with a mesh storage bag, so I bought one off ebay for £10, great quality made by Cocoon.

I keep it stored at the bottom of a wardrobe. It has lots of space to expand.

Thanks for your help. My light bag has gone into a pillow case, no problem certainly not crushed anywhere.
My big bag was crushed up too much in a pillow case, so I have been allowed use a duvet cover which does the job perfectly.
  Again many thanks folks.

I have informed the moths that they are safe for a while longer.
