I'm planning an attempt of the Lake District 3000s in a few weeks and tested the Seatoller -> Sca Fell -> Scafell Pike -> Esk Haus route the other day. The common route is Seatoller -> Seathwaite -> Styhead Tarn -> Corridor route -> descend from Lingmell Col down Hollow Stones -> Ascent up Lord's Rake -> Sca Fell. Lord's Rake was good fun, but as this will be after 11hrs of walking (Keswick -> Skiddaw -> Derwent Water -> Grange -> Seatoller) I'd prefer to hand an alternative on hand.

I've seen a sketched route where you keep descending from Lingmell Col on the Hollow Stones route and then follow the contours around Black Crag and can then join the track shown on the OS Maps (questionable whether it exists or not...) to approach Sca Fell from the West, avoiding Lord's Rake.

If anyone's done this route before and has some tips or a GPS file, it'd be appreciated.

Thanks!
