Thanks gunwharfman but any boot that leaks the first time it rains is a definite no no for me.

I've recently bought the adidas TERREX Free Hikers and have been really impressed by them. Much wider toe box than other adidas shoes I've bought in the past, and the boost combined with the continental sole has made them incredibly comfortable vs other shoes/boots I've walked in and have great grip!  :)

Not according to https://www.adidas.co.uk/terrex-free-hiker-shoes/D98046.html
Upper is described as water repellent textile.

Haha.  I know this ninthace.  I was just wondering if our one hit wonder simply joined the forum to advertise a product (shock horror!!).

Perhaps his/her post should be moved to the spam and free advertising topic  :D

Ooooh you cynic!   I like the idea of the white trim round the sole.  Should go well with sheep poo.

Haha not at all! Only found this forum a couple of months ago and have been reading posts about walks, kits etc that have interested me.
Got the Free Hikers when they were released as I have previously used trainers that have adidas boost in them for walking/hiking and loved the comfort but wanted more grip / support in the ankle now that i’ve Been getting out in the Peaks more often! ☺️

Understandable why you would feel that a one-post wonder would have an alterior motive if their first post is recommending a product however so cinisism (sp?!) understood haha!
