Derwentwater from Keswick

We had a lovely weekend in Keswick and without the experience of climbing peaks in snow we decided to do a low level walk around Derwentwater from Keswick. It was about 9-10 miles in total and had some wonderful impressive views. The best part of the walk for me was seeing a deer! It was literally 20 yards away from us eating and it just carried on and kept an eye on us. It was magical for me as I have never seen one wild before. So beautiful!
The walk was on good paths and walkways and not too tiring as it was pretty much flat the whole way around. The weather was cold and changable. The sun kept peeping out but 10 minutes later there would be a major snow shower! typical lake district weather really
These are a couple of pics of some of the damage done to pavements just outside Keswick caused by the floods. Just goes to show how amazing the power of water is, there are tarmac pavements just smashed by the flooded river.
