Derbyshire 'Edges' in the snow :-)
« on: 15:58:39, 13/01/10 »
On Monday 4th Jan, I took a guy on another of my 'Derbyshire Edges' walks; White Edge, Froggat Edge and finally, Curbar Edge. Not as impressive as Derwent Edge (IMO)....but still lovely scenery :)
Part of the route took us through the very pretty Longshaw Estate which looked gorgeous covered in snow.
It was impossible to drive to my usual start point - Curbar Gap CP - because of sheet ice on the lane (all uphill) So, we parked at the bottom near Curbar Primary School and began the climb from there!

The lane to Curbar Gap CP...

Footpath that avoids part of the lane...

The short climb onto White Edge...

Thanks Tracey for sharing such tremendous photos.   The sculpture of the snow is amazing and I love the sunlight ones.

Great pictures! What a stunning day - love the area in all seasons but winter has "the edge" so to speak!
