Yorkshire Dales National Park (W)

One of our best recent walks with contrasting scenery. The walk started in the village of Austwick and took us first through Oxenber Wood and Wharfe Wood. As we left the woods our “target” came into sight, the rocky top of Smearsett Scar which offers magnificent views to all quarters. From Smearsett Scar we followed the ridge to Pot Scar before descending along the Pennine Bridleway to the hamlet of Feizor and a welcone pot of tea and bun in the cafe. Suitably refreshed we then made our way back to Austwick. A pleasant day weatherwise with just one brief shower on the final leg.
Pictures for those wishing to view are now available on the website located in the “Last Walk” section.
Regards,
Dave
