mt.Snowdon as seen from Whaley Moor (Feb 19th). Taken 15 minutes before sunset and in excellent visibility, all that was required was a map&compass to spot it above the horizon. My glasses, and a bit of GIMP tweaking to bring out the contrast.

mt.Snowdon is give or take 97miles from Whaley Moor, excellent vista's all across the Cheshire Plain and northern Pennines today.

I took these in a local beauty spot known as Tigers Clough. Its proper name is Shaw's Clough, and the top part of it was once a public park (Shaw's Park). About 100yr ago though the clough contained a bleach works and an unliceced pub nearby. The owner of the pub obviously wasn't too concerned about officers of the law paying him an official visit, because he even went to the trouble of having a sign erected outside that showed a picture of two tiger cubs. And that's how the clough got its local name.

Framed Tryfan, taken on Saturday 18th Feb, a great walk in the Glyders, after a rainy start the weather was kind to us.
This was taken on the return route after going over Y Garn, Foel Goch, Mynydd Perfedd and Carnedd Filiast.

This is a shot of Harrison Stickle looking across Stickle Tarn. Took this on 26th August last year. We completed a 9.4 mile walk of The Langdale Pikes.

I have to go there again, soon...

Fantastic pictures, all of them.  I've been on holiday, and thought I'd share one of my own.   Sunset on the Amazon River.   Loved it!
