Is planning a route to take in a pub or 2 a good idea? Do they make interesting and refreshing stopping points, or are you in danger of never completing your walk or staggering off the trail?
Any stories, or recommendations?

I can recommend the walk between the Kings Head (Llangenith - Gower, South Wales) over or behind the ridge to Rhossili and the Worms Head, some Guinness, and a stomp back along Rhossili Beach back to the Kings Head for a whisky and a meal!
