Nice write-up on the UK Hillwalking website about what it's like to run a remote hostel:

It was run by the YHA until it closed in 2002.  It re-opened again, as an indenpendent affiliated YHA hostel in 2006.

The new wardens, Suzy and Martin, are doing a great job up there.   Supported by the Skiddaw House Foundation charity.
