Bank holiday Monday saw me take in four summits in the central Mournes. Starting from Ott car park I headed for the Mourne wall in the direction of Doan. There is a good track for most of the route to the Mourne wall which unfortunately peters out into marshy terrain. After some leap-frogging across marshes, I made my way to Doan's summit. Doan is regarded by many walkers as the central summit in the Mournes. After admiring the views, I descended in the direction of Slieveloughshannagh, my favourite mountain in the Mournes with the view of the Silent Valley and the lough which bears its name. I followed the Mourne wall to Carn before making the return to the car park via Ott mountain. Total distance was just under 10km, taking 2.5 hours.
