Not another Devonian!

Hello folks, another one from Devon here, born and bred. I live in the Dartmoor National Park which is my love, passion and playground, it was also my workplace for the vast majority of my working life, I used to walk for a living!


I retired at 57 taking VR, the best thing I have ever done apart from my amazing job.  So looking forward to interacting with likeminded folk, thanks for having me. 👍

Welcome to the forum from the southern edge of the Lake District.
I too took VR and retired early at 57; loving it!

I did not take early retirement, they threw me out at 55!  Enjoying the pension.

Welcome from Shropshire, I retired early-ish and a youthful passion for mountaineering brought me back to walking. No pay-offs for me, my business was running out of steam, so lady luck led me down a path that beat the 2008 crash by 4 years, since then other whimsical spirits have drawn me down many a pretty way.

I took early retirement 14 years ago at the age of 54.

I gave up smoking nearly 5 years ago and began walking for health, which soon turned into walking for fitness and leisure.  :)
