Hi there.

I volunteer with the Leeds City Council Duke of Edinburgh Award and am trying to set up a boot bank.

Very basically, we have stores of tents, waterproofs, trangiers, etc. that we can lend the youngsters but no boots. The stuff they turn up in often causes them problems

So if you have any half decent walking boots that have a few miles left in them that you are willing to donate then please get in touch. Even if you are not near Leeds we may be able to arrange a pick up from someone local to you.

Take a look here for a bit more information and contact details http://www.lupineadventure.co.uk/content/view/37/94/ [nofollow]

Thanks very much

Good luck with this, Andy. I've not got any spare boots at the moment - at least none in any in a fit state to give away (I'm thinking slightly zany plant pots for their future) - but having been given a "heads up", I'll certainly keep my scavenging ears on for anything suitable.   O0
