so true Richard, finding a great wild camping spot and feeling safe in your equipment is priceless.

The expense on equipment is affordable by not having to stay in B&Bs, plus I like camping

Thanks. Not directly applicable to what I like/plan to do in the mountains, or to my budget, but interesting none the less. Using floss for repairs is a good idea.
