Hi from North East Couple
« on: 01:39:31, 28/09/17 »
Hi all. We are a 50+ couple from Jarrow and have been lurking here for a couple of weeks now. We are both newbies and taken to a couple of trails recently. Low and High Force and Kielder forest.  Looking at going up Mount Helvellyn next weekend not via the ridges though as my partner has vertigo. Picked up some great advise here so far. Thank you to those people sharing their experiences.

Welcome from Twickenham in West London.  Jarrow seems like a good base for some great walks!  I'm jealous, I have to travel for hours to reach proper hills.  Sorry, I can't give any detailed advice about routes up Helvellyn but I'm sure some others will offer you some hints.

All the best!  :)

PS You could try searching 'Helvellyn' on this forum using the Google custom search box at the top of the page.  I just tried and at least a couple of trip reports came up which claimed to be straightforward e.g. avoiding Striding Edge.

Welcome from NW Durham!  ( BTW its Helvellyn not Mount Helvellyn, sounds a bit American) :)
