Saw this on the BBC website today that according to OS, Edale in The Peak District is the most popular place to start a hike
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47523640
However they have gathered the information from "routes created and shared on the OS Maps App", nothing about whether the walks were actually walked!

It's certainly one of my favourite places, the other is anywhere in the Brecon Beacons O0

Is one of my top favourite places to start a hike .
Over 50 years of walking and hiking around the magical
Hope Valley ,never lost it's appeal .
Having gone camping when I left school in the sixtys in a ridge canvas tent .Oh what fun ,a bit like the Fast Show :D
And camping in Every Campsites in the Valley.
We came from Manchester on the train . To explore
Everything was a big adventure . Wonderful days out hiking Kinder area and back for an evening in the Ramble Inn & Nags Head . Eventually we moved out of M/C ,to Glossop were we would hike to Hayfield and onto Edale ,which was great to find new routes and explore more . 8) :o O0
