Title: Woofs on Walkies
Post by: Moobli on 22:31:10, 10/07/13
I thought there would be a thread for pics of man's (and woman's) best friend in various scenic locations, but as I can't find one decided to start my own.  Please add your photos to it.

Lovely photo of Benji - love all the colour in the photo.  Where was it taken?

That's another great shot, The Wanderer.  I'm afraid I can't tell if Benji is a Whippet or Greyhound from that shot?  (though I'm fond of both!)

Aww great pic Joester - where were you, and what is the name of your lovely pooch?

That's Archie, I wish he were mine, but he's my 'hairy brother' (preferable in many ways to my actual brother).  We have quite a bond.
The former shot is on Stanage Edge in the Peak District.  Here's a frontal taken on Lose Hill (Peaks):

Thanks
Moobli, it was taken beside Tees barrage near Stockton on Tees, I have lots of photos of him on the N.Y moors I will have to dig them out.
Joester, nice pic of Archie, it was a cross between a greyhound and a lurcher (Or so I was told) he was certainly one of a kind, :) now sadly no longer with us.
I do miss him he used to love walking around North Yorkshire with us
great pic of Ellie IIswoz

This is a video of my three collies taken on 16th Dec last year in Rivington. The little one doing all the charging about is Molly, and at the time she had only been with us ten days (passed to me at 1yr old by a family who found her boundless energy hard to cope with - a case of never get a puppy for Christmas). Both the other two were 7yr old when the video was taken: the brown and white one is Brett and the black anf white one is Sam. As you will see on the video, Molly soon fitted into "our gang". 8)

Chino's retired now. Arthritis. Strictly an 'around the block and i'm done' doggy. However, we were lucky enough to get Bella last year as a rescue dog (like Chino), and until recently all three of us have been walking together.

First thing i did was take Bella (Collie/Lab mix) to the beach (Mersea Island). Six years old and never been in the sea!

And slightly off topic, but Moobli will like this. Spotted these guys (and girls) waiting for their worming treatment at the vets recently. 12 GSH, all fast asleep. Proud Mum (all black GSH) next to them.

The photos of Midge are beautiful M&D.  What a cracking looking collie.  So sorry he has gone blind  :(   Is it CEA?  It clearly doesn't stop him from enjoying life though - he is an inspiration (as are you!).  Well done on JOGLE.  How did you and Midge get on?

She looks like she could go all day  O0
I did have it down to four breeds - Border Collie, Whippet, Jack Russell or Chihuahua.
I'd love a collie for the sheer beauty, trainability and companionship out in the hills but worried that I wouldn't be fit enough, mentally & physically, to do her justice  :-\   The Chihuahua?  Lovely little dogs given the chance and the stubborn side of me wanted one not just as a companion but also to prove that those little fellas DO have legs  :)   Whippets....just fabulous dogs  O0   And the terrier?  I've had them in the past so know what to expect....small portable size so she can come on caravan holidays with us (another plus for the chi), tough as old boots, walk all day, intelligent and one of my favourite breeds  :)

Yep we get no end over here (Athens) used to take pics of each one to try and identify it in the future, but it's not uncommon to see 20+ on a 10 mile walk.

Hi,

I and my spaniel finished the Cape Wrath Trail last week. I am so proud of him I thought that I would post some pictures of him in Sandwood Bay - our last night before the Cape. We both lost weight - it was a hard 13 days but I am sure that when the lighthouse came into view, he knew that the long walk was over.

We've just had patio doors installed and the dog can't cope with having all that garden in the room - he just stands at the door and barks then hides in the bedroom. That's inspite of going in and out from the outside checking out the builders sandwiches.

My puppy Sandy is home!  O0   That recently-broken foreleg is getting stronger by the day but I'm still sticking to short walks for now as we need to build up the muscle once more.
Had her at Boulmer yesterday afternoon and she loved it!  :)
