I've written a post about my wild-camping trip around the Lake district in the snow that ended a good walking year for me. If you're interested I've included the link of the walk

https://wildwalkinguk.com/2021/01/08/a-high-level-5-day-wild-camping-circuit-of-the-lake-district-in-the-snow/

It is a perfect example of my whole year. It was unplanned and I made the route up as I went. I just packed 5-days food and went, with the general thought that I would like to walk the Bob Graham Round. I managed half of the 42 peaks and loved every minute of the walk.
All my walks were done this way last year and they all worked out really well. So stay flexible and be ready to go whenever you get the chance and it should be a good year. Stay positive and best of luck for 2021.

Whole-heartedly agree with that sentiment, more so now, than ever.

I will have a read of your adventure after my tea so thank you (in advance) for posting - I've enjoyed reading your other blog posts and I'm sure I'll enjoy reading this too  O0

Wonderful stuff - really enjoyed reading your blog.
I've been impressed with my Lightwave tent too - an overlooked brand, in my opinion.

A brilliant record of a cracking adventure O0
You were so lucky with the weather, you can't beat blue skies and snow.
Shamelessly nicked that route for a summer expedition  ;D

Reading your report and seeing the photos has brightened  up (considerably) a very damp and dismal morning here in the Yorkshire Dales - I might have another look later  :)

A terrific winter trek and report with fine pics, most energetic  O0

I can just about remember those bitterly cold days when we hardly dared to remove our gloves even briefly. Treks of that vigour, especially in winter conditions, are beyond us now anyway!  :(

Hi.

Don't hold me to the mileage exactly, as it's only a rough guess.

Thanks for your message

This current lockdown began January 6, with hindsight would you have taken the same risk considering the event that took place recently?. The rules clearly stated that you should stay at home.

Hi Peak
The walk was done before the Lake District lock down and I went from a tier 2 area. I work in a Care home so I do not take risks and I'm tested for Covid-19 3 times a week. All my walks were planned with distancing in mind, that's why I wild-camp and carry enough supplies for the walk. No one should break the rules.
Thanks for message.

Never thought about it when I read it, but your blog date of 8th Jan could give the impression that you had breached the lockdown rules.
