I've just completed that section and enjoyed the walk, not too strenuous. BTW I coudn't get your blog link to work, quixoticgeek. Would be interested to read it if you could repost the link?
Oh, fixed, it didn't like the capital h in the address. Should work now, or try

I was shocked by the level of litter everywhere whenever the NDW came anywhere near a major road (which it does quite frequently on this section). I think it's down to all those pesky car drivers, surely not to us angelic walkers?
It's not just the litter that I notice, but the amount of fly tipping. On the leg between Otford and Cuxton I found a big pile of asbestos in the middle of the track. On the leg from Shepherdswell to Canterbury I passed several piles of fly tipped waste in one 1k stretch. Where possible I report it via
http://fixmystreet.com.
Every walk I do on the NDW has also resulted in me having to report missing sign posts, broken gates, broken styles downed trees blocking the path (I carry a small saw for dealing with some trees).
It's a big trail, it's used by many people and it needs upkeep. We can all pick up a bit of litter as we go along, but the fly tipping you need to report to someone who can fix it safely.
