In Langdale 3 weeks ago to nothing but rain.

On the Fairfield Horseshoe on Monday to 40mph winds, vertical hail and a mission not accomplished, by not reaching the top, 200 metres off.

Grasmere on Tuesday to some snow at higher level,

To Hen Cloud and the Roaches, back down past the Don Whilans Memorial Hut and a cracking walk - 15 minutes from home!!

Great photos GB.
I guess with local walks it is easier to decide when to go so you can pick the weather more.

Agreed re. the photos, and agreed with Ridge. Being retired heps, too. For instance, I have next Tuesday flagged to do a local(ish) walk because the forecast predicts 13C.  ^-^

I wish I could get up there again today but heavy snow will stop any driving.

I live just below the Peak District with the Staffordshire way right behind our back garden fence (literally).

Today we're walking down into the Churnet Valley for a walk through the woods and back up the canal path.

I decided to not run off road today so decided to take a walk. Part of my walk, about 3 miles was along narrow tarmacked roads, two car passed and a rider on horseback. Now that all of the leaves are fallen I was amazed how much rubbish, bottles, cans, building rubble, old tiles, black plastic sacks, old wooden drawers, burger containers, etc were in the hedgerows. There seems to be a lot more that last year, but then again my irritation may make me more biased? All this stuff is obviously less noticeable when the leaves come back.

Lovely pics GB  O0   The Roaches/Hen Cloud are just instantly recognisable, even in the snow!

Though I like the pic of the weak sunshine framed by the trees as well  :)
