The 1000 miles was never going to happen this year but the challenge did give me a bit of an incentive to get out and put some miles in.

I changed my targets to 100 a month. I shall finish on 1200. Next year I will be back to 1000 miles as I feel fit enough doing that. It's a comfortable amount, I don't need to push for more.

Does not matter, main thing is it got you out and about!

That was the thing for me.  I had something to aim for to keep me going.  I almost fell off the wagon a few times but managed to pull it back in the end :)

You are right about needing the target to get out.  There are many days in the last 6 weeks when I would have curled up by the fire with a book instead of getting my boots on. The only thing was I didn't want to end up chasing miles instead of enjoying nice walks.

I have eventually got around to totalling my miles fro the second half of the year and I have reached the 1000miles target. With a bit of luck I should make to to 1100 by the 31st December.

Last year I seem to recall it was a bit nip and tuck whether I would make it and like others have said for this year, it gave me that extra boost to get out.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all.

A short wander round the gardens at Angelsey Abbey with my Dad and my family just tipped me over the 500 miles mark. I think I'll aim for 520 next year as it would average out at 10 miles per week.

Nothing to do with the CW 1000 mile challenge...but I'm really chuffed to have walked 1293 miles this year.
I'll no doubt be walking either tomorrow or Sunday (or both), so there will be a few miles to add to my current total.
