Title: A coastal walk in Kent
Post by: Dovegirl on 12:28:03, 24/09/19
When I stayed in Dover this summer, I got a bus to Hythe and walked the coast via Folkestone back to Dover.  It was a great walk and I was lucky with the weather.  Despite the dark clouds on some of the photos, it didn't rain!

Excellent! One of my favourite areas for walking!  O0

I live about 30 minutes drive away and usually park at Samphire Hoe, which is a fantastic spot below Shakespeare Cliff and reached through a long tunnel through the cliff. Your final photo towards the harbour appears to have been taken as you descended from the clifftop along the North Downs Way.

I love the high path that looks down on the Warren; it's one of the most scenic paths I know. I don't know if you've done it yet, but actually walking through the Warren is quite an experience and the paths at either end to the clifftop are extremely steep!

I would have liked to walk through the Warren but decided to take the clifftop path for the views

Nice photos, dovegirl - the sea in the 4th photo looks lovely. I really don't know the South Coast at all.

Lovely photos Dovegirl  O0

The clouds do look like they are about to make a deposit  :) Love the second and third shots of Folkestone. Is that a little house in the middle of the harbour?

Thanks, April.  Apparently the little house is an art installation    :)

:) It isn't very apparent (to me) that it is art  ;)

I think I will pretend that somebody does actually live there and forget the art thing  :)

Lovely photos. I remember having a pleasant walk there years ago, along the beach and through the Warren - after meandering through delightful woodland for a while, there was a very steep path up to the clifftop (seemed to go on forever!) with a nice little cafe at the top.
