A couple of years ago i climbed Ben Nevis for charity and got hooked on the outdoors, after meeting a few great people and learning a few things i set off to Morrocco to climb the 13,671 ft of Jebel Toubkal with a few mates.. Here is my story...

brilliant, Morocco is so fantastic, great food, great scenery, amazing people. I cannot wait to go back and I was hoping to slot in a quick ascent of Toubkal

Nice one snowslider, top-tip use the Dar-Adar as your Imlil basecamp.

what time of year was this? I wasn't sure if it was the same as when you posted the blog entry or not?

March - the locals reckon it was one of the best snow dumps they had had in years.
I wouldnt fancy doing it in summertime, i dont like heat.

I think March is fairly late for snow there, I was looking at doing it as a ski summit and I think Jan/Feb is most snow sure.
That's the beauty of Morocco though, the weather in winter is just fantastic for walking and climbing. It's just got everything going for it.

You would have to be seriously unlucky not to get snow in March. We saw quite a few people skiing down from the summit apparently in can be done in 10 minutes if you bomb it.

I should qualify that, we were going to do a longer tour including Toubkal, it was lower down I was concerned about.
Still, it remains on the tick list
even if I'm disappointed you say people skiing down, I don't know anyone that's done it.

It was a group of Spanish who were skiing. The refuge was a 50/50 mix of climbers and snowsliders.
